Carbondale students not to be drug tested

With the announcement that Marion High School will implement a new procedure for student drug testing, officials at Carbondale Community High School say they are not following suit. Beginning next month, Marion High School will begin random drug testing for students involved in athletics, extra-curricular activities and students with parking passes.

Bank Robbery Brief

The Huntington Bank at 3464 S. High St. was robbed at approximately 3:40 p.m. Wednesday by a white, middle-aged man wearing a black T-shirt and jeans.

According to the police report, the suspect approached the counter, handed the teller a bag and demanded money.
