As many of you, sadly, may not know, Friday, Sept. 26 marked the first in a series of four presidential debates. McCain and Obama went head to head on issues about the economy and foreign relations, and both candidates did exceedingly well. What greatly discourages me is the seemingly lack of student involvement in this election, no matter whether you identify with a donkey or elephant.

Self-reporting arrests denies civil libertiesI am troubled by the administration's recent ruling that students must "self-report" any arrest. Rodney Bennett, vice president for student affairs, is quoted as saying, "We think students in general will buy into the spirit of what we are trying to accomplish here.

This column is for all my sexy ladies out there. The last few weeks of interviews and polling have shown there is a large potential for one of us to be in the White House this term. The bad news is, it's Sarah Palin. Although in the beginning it seemed as if John McCain chose her to attract Hillary's leftovers, it has become clearer that it is to make up for the values of the extreme right that he lacks.
