Operation Help Haiti

Faculty, staff and students raise funds for torn country
On Jan. 12, a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti, affecting nearly three million people and killing over 111,000. This event sparked an overwhelming outreach from millions across the world, who donated their time, services, money and support. New team on campus

Piedmont is looking for a new Sports Information Director, but not for the obvious reasons. Current SID, Richard Dombrowsky isn't leaving Piedmont College, but moving to another position within the Piedmont athletics department. Beginning this spring, Piedmont will field a full time Junior Varsity Baseball team and Dombrowsky is the head coach.… Post the First Comment

Once upon a time, Lake Demorest was a flourishing body of water. One could nearly see the entire body of water from the windows in the Arrendale Library. Today, it looks as if Lake Demorest has seen better days. It's now a wetlands, a mere remnant of its former glory.… 1 Comment

On Jan. 13 the Habersham County Health Department distributed free H1N1 vaccines to faculty, staff and students. The cafeteria was used as the administration place. Dr. Linda Scott, the head of the nursing department, oversaw the planning of the vaccines. Scott says, "It was open to the community as well as students.… Post the First Comment

Nontraditional scholarship expands to more countiesNontraditional scholarship expands to more counties

Piedmont College added seven new counties to the Neighborhood Grant Program. The total of counties covered is 16. Nontraditional students have to live in the covered counties to qualify for the program. This is good news to the nontraditional students who live there.… Post the First Comment
