One of the many joys of going to college is the experience college brings. Coming into Piedmont College, once they opened their doors to the day students, gave some students that never attended college the chance to gain some of those experiences they may have missed out on after high school.

These same experiences are missing from the Athens campus at the moment. Most of the students are non-traditional, which means they are working students, living on their own without the time to do anything on campus but go to class. Because of this, students in Athens are missing out on a lot of things the school can offer because they feel they do not have the time to join in any of the activities offered at the school.

There are so many things that the student body can do to become more involved. The best part of getting involved in things is you are the first to begin anything that the school will have in the future. Any new clubs, organizations and activities that are started will be with the school for years to come and one can proudly say he or she started it in Athens.

The school has an amazing education opportunity so now it is up to you to create everything else the school needs to give the experience all college students will remember for life. Get yourself involved and join groups or clubs, if there is not a group or club that interests you then start one that you and your friends are interested in. It is so much easier than you think. Get involved in any or all of the activities that go on in the school so that you can meet other people and make new friends. It is up to the students in Athens to start the experience that people will be talking about for a life time. So get to it!
