As we wrap up this school year, some are already preparing for the next. The new RAs and RDs have been announced for the 2009-2010 year at Piedmont in Demorest.
"I am so crazy excited about being an RA in Wallace next year! I could not stop smiling when I found out. I am unbelievably honored," says new RA, Jennifer Fuller.
With the position of RA comes more responsibility. These students handle altercations, conduct health and safety checks in dorm rooms and, of course, "do rounds." They are also there to help and guide students.
Residence Directors work closely with their RA's and with other Piedmont staff to ensure students a positive experience living on campus.
"I love Leah (Della Torre) and cannot wait to work with her and I also am very excited to work side by side with Natalie Danna," says Fuller.
As part of this experience, RAs and RDs can choose to decorate their dorm and organize events for residents.
"We really want to re-vamp Wallace. We're thinking about ideas like themed hallways or something different just to jazz up the area. We want people to feel comfortable hanging out in the lobby all the time," says Fuller.
If any student has suggestions for activities for their dorm next year, contact one of the new RAs or RDs.
