It's all about how we look. From the latest diet craze, the newest workout routine,or the newest weight loss tea, if you read about it, it must work. Right? Wrong. Just thinking about all the past diet trends makes me shake my head in disgust.

According to an article in the New York Times entitled Cool Way to Lose Weight, the latest craze is turning your thermostat down. Studies in the New England Journal of Medicine mentioned "brown fat" and the potential it has to burn off calories and generate heat.

Recent studies have found that brown fat is present in adults and is metabolically active when stimulated by cold for a couple hours. Those who are overweight generally have less brown fat activity than those who are leaner.

Now there are hopes of developing a pill that could potentially increase the activity of brown fat. In other words, a new weight loss pill is about it come out.

All I have to say is enough with the diet pills, enough with the crazy diet trends and enough with the millions of new ways to possibly have a shot at losing a pound.

Weight loss takes time. There is no magic pill you can take and have the extra weight just disappear. To see results you have to be proactive.

I don't know how many articles I have read over the years about the newest way to shed a few pounds. In the long run, none of these methods really pay off. If you want to drop a few pounds, don't follow the fads.

Change your eating habits and incorporate activity into your daily life. Going on a strict diet will only cause you to gain the weight back after you go back to your old unhealthy eating habits. Eat healthy and exercise-- that's the key to weight loss.

There are so many new pills and odd diets out there now. Just go to a search engine and type in "weight loss." I'm sure you'll come up with way more methods to lose weight than you can handle.

So why create yet another pill to help us shed the pounds? Why is it necessary to have so many odd ways you might could lose a pound or two? If you want to lose weight, I suggest you stick to the old fashioned ways of healthy eating and exercise. It might take a little time to see the results, but the results will be real.
