Food review: The Grill

Do you ever get out of class and the cafeteria is closed because it's that in-between time after lunch and before dinner?
Or perhaps you need place off campus to gather with friends while enjoying classic American comfort food.
The Grill on College St. in downtown is the eatery that's casual, relaxed and fun. It's well worth the 15-minute walk from campus down Prince Ave. and W. Dougherty St.
On the same side as the Five Guy and Ben and Jerry's, the Grill is reminiscent of a '50s diner with flashing neon lights on the outside and black vinyl furniture on the inside.
Claiming to serve "tasty burgers, fries and milkshakes since 1981," the restaurant's menu offers many other options as well.
All of the hamburgers are handmade with a generous amount of meat.
Although you can pick from a few choices of side dishes, the default option is The Grill's specially cut French fries.
These tasty morsels are smaller and chunkier than most fries and cut in a wavy pattern. A dill pickle garnishes every platter.
The grilled chicken sandwich came covered in cheese and mushrooms and held together by a large onion roll.
The pastrami sandwich looked fresh and took up half a plate.
Considering the liberal portion sizes, the prices are cheap.
Most hamburger and sandwich platters are about $7 and extra sides can be added for a couple more dollars.
Handmade milkshakes cost about $5.
Overall, the Grill offers tasty food at reasonable prices. It's definitely worth checking out.
