Valentine's Day
Why just one day a year?

It's almost Valentine's Day, which is by far, my least favorite holiday of them all.
Call me a skeptic, but I think it's done all wrong. Guys panic because they've waited until the last minute and are now fighting every other man for the V-Day essentials.
Girls panic because who ever knows what to get their guy? Seriously I just don't think you should stress over it.
I'm okay with a day being set aside to honor love. That's fine but sometimes Valentine's Day becomes more of an obligation than something you look forward to.
My big concern is, why not every other day? Why do you have to save all your efforts and pile them into the day when you're basically obligated to show your feelings?
If you care about someone, why can't you show him or her every single day? I'm not saying you have to give your significant other flowers and presents every day.
You should give him or her the bigger gifts, such as consideration, honesty and respect.
It may sound cheesy, but those mean much more than gifts that are sometimes accompanied with an, "I'll do better this year."
Be considerate of those you care about. Ask about their day, let them choose a movie, and give hugs and smiles freely.
Sometimes we get stressed about work, school, sports and other events in our daily grind. We don't even notice that often the one closest to us takes the brunt of our stress. This is common, but it doesn't make it right.
The important idea to remember is to treat the one you care about well every day.
Small sacrifices and negotiations are nothing in the long run.
It's better to show and honor your feelings now rather than later wish you had.
