Yes, I'm single. Yes, it's okay.

I was born single. I was raised as the single child in the household and I was raised by a single parent.
And to top it all off, my relationship status is currently, you guessed it, single.
So you can make the assumption I know a lot about being single.
However, unlike many females, I'm okay with that. Don't misunderstand me; I could be in a relationship right now if I wanted to, but I guess I'm stuck in the days when asking someone out was more formal and respectful.
That's my fault; I should seriously get up to date. However, I refuse to settle for nonsense.
First of all, making a move on Facebook or any other social networking Web-site is the sill.
This is especially true when the guys who are doing this see me every day in person.
How lame can you be?
Don't message me saying "Hey beautiful" and don't annoy me by popping up at the bottom of my screen in a chat bubble.
Thanks for the compliment, but sorry, sir, I'll pass on your cyber invitation.
Something else that annoys me is when a guy has found himself lucky enough to get my number and abuses the privilege.
Don't call or text me past 12 a.m. trying to start a conversation to see what I'm doing. At that time, it's too late for us to hang out and do anything other than an activity I personally don't want to take part in.
I'm sure there's another girl on your contacts list who will entertain you, but sorry, this one will pass.
If this sounded like a man bashing article, I'm so sorry. It wasn't intended to be. However, it was intended to wake a few guys up.
What happened to the beauty of true relationships and true intimacy? We have let the luxury of technology affect us too much.
So until a guy can approach me with some sense, I will continue to answer the relationship question by saying "Yeah, I'm single."
